Every project is different and so we offer a free consultation to decide how we might best assist you. Below is a guide to the type of design advice or assessment we can offer you.
Design and integration of technology
- Design of systems at the initial planning stage carried through to Planning and Building Regulations approval
- Sustainability reports to assist the planning process
- We work closely with architects to ensure the viability of integrating the systems within the design and the practicalities of on site construction
- We source systems and up to date technologies
- We assist with the project management of installations and liaison with suppliers and builders
Assessments
We can provide assessments at many levels to fit the requirements of the project. Even if a full BREEAM assesment is not necessary, we assess the project or proposal in line with some or all the factors listed below
Full BREEAM assessment
- We are registered Assessors for BREEAM Ecohomes. A assessment of this scale is useful when planning a large scale development. This assessment is the recognized system developed by The Building Research Establishment(BRE). The grading runs from one to four star (pass to excellent) and examines a comprehensive range of parameters
Environmental Factors.
- Site study and aspect of buildings for best use of natural light

- Layout of buildings to improve the social and working environment
- Usability and optimizing the building for use
- Safety and security including the “Secured by Design” award scheme
- Health issues including allergen control and sick building syndrome
- Environment and biodiversity: offsetting the environmental consequences of human habitation with positive design and biodiversity measures.
- Water use: water saving measures within buildings
Reduction of Carbon Emissions
- Energy conservation and efficiency to minimize consumption, wastage or loss, including Energy Consumption assessment
- Sustainable energy sources for space heating, cooling, hot water, lighting and power, energy calculations and output levels
- Design to anticipate and provide for future solutions and upgrades.
Buildings and their impact on the environment
- Design for low impact and sustainable materials, in conjunction with the BRE Green Guide and certification schemes such as the FSC
- Minimizing quantities of materials and services used
- Cost effective and efficient construction
- Mitigating the environmental impact of the construction process
